Expedition One: The Beggining

Welcome.
This here is supposed to be a blog about dumsptring (or dumpster diving) mainly in and around Gothenburg.
I initiate this the day after I started dumpstring for real, so it will be a tale of sorts, from day one and forward. By this I hope i later on will help beginners to dumpstring out by providing sort of a step-by-step manual in the art.
I also strive to keep information sources about the current condition of dive spots up to date and me and a few friends also strive to create a real map with markers: both where there are available "garbage", where it isn't and where no one we know have checked.

So, to initiate this, let me tell you about our first expedition.

Me and two friends, which i figure will be my most frequent companions in upcoming expeditions, set out to check the area around my apartment. We had little to none information about any of the stores around here which are:

Coop Konsum at SKF.
Hemköp at Kortedala Torg.
Ica at Allahelgonakyrkan.
Lidl at Gallileis Gata.
Ica at Rymdtorget.

(Spots named after their corresponding tram stops for your convenience;)

A friend of mine live in a collective in the area and made some background checkup. We found out that Lidl apparently protects its garbage with cameras and fences (what the fuck is up with that, honestly?), and therefore decided it was a little overkill to try and get in there.
However, it seemed like Ica at Rymdtorget was available in some manner, so we set out. Once there, we found it blocked and locked in a container that seemed all but accessible.
We continued to Ica at Allahelgonakyrkan, where the only thing we found that was even remotely of interest was a locked room which seemed to be filled with paper and a normal trashcan which where filled with.. trash.
Not letting those setbacks foul our mood we ventured forth to Hemköp at Kortedala Torg, where we discovered a open door leading to a room with what seemed like a rather interesting collection of container-ish-devices.
Filled with anticipation we entered to find that the very same panzer-container that Ica at Rymdtorget used seemed to be in fashion and once again we left empty handed,
Finally we set out for our last destionation: Coop Konsum at SKF.  Well there we quickly found out they had built themselves a huge locked garage to hide their trash from our prying hands.
Rather disappointed we gave up and headed home.
Tomorrow, however, we will once again set out, and now we'v actually done some real research, meaning we know where we should go.
(Actually 'tomorrow' is 'today'.)
